In other words – FREE STUFF!!!
Riyaj Shamsudeen does a free RAC hacking session on 12 July!
He will demonstrate how the LMS background process works, with the help of OS tracing tools like truss and DTrace.

Update:
A video recording of the session can be found here: http://www.vimeo.com/26798681

I am sure it gonna be a rocking session. Look forward attending.
Tanel, any chance you can publish a video of this afterwards?
Thanks!
@Thiago Maciel
Yep we plan to upload the video, stay tuned!
Thanks all for attending the RAC hacking event!
We had some audio issues – and guess what – we’ve troubleshooted it by now – most of it was because interference between an USB mic and USB mouse (static). No issues when eliminating one of the two from the picture (the divide & conquer troubleshooting approach ;-) So, next time the audio should be ok.
A demo effect also prevented a cool demo from not working (and this demo *always* worked!) like I’ve experienced in past as well.
Riyaj will record this demo again and I will upload it as well !
Well. I have to admit I’m a little bit disappointed. The story with audio… well it happens. The demo was a kind of hack and it also could happen. But I think Riyaj should prepare better (name of scripts, parameters of scripts, etc.).
I’m going to attend some of your online trainings, but I’m not sure I will ever attend Riyaj’s (I will buy every book written by him since he is great author, but it is not everyone is good lecturer and seems to be his case, too).
Tanel, Riyaj,
thanks for time, it was great. Just don’t give up ! :)
Just a quick question: are some off those scripts going to be public (i.e. dtrace for on-cpu / off-cpu and the last one in ppt presentation about showing intra-nodes matrix for GC messages to/from LMS?)
-Jakub.
Hi Kuba,
I was sure You are AIX oriented ;), so Im suprised about Dtrace request :).
You may check http://www.orainternals.com/scripts_rac1.php site for useful rac scripts maybe there is a matrix for GC .

@Pavol Babel
Thanks for the honest feedback!
Note that this free hacking session was *not* a formal training session – it was a hacking session, mostly intended for fun.
The idea is to just open sqlplus and hack, no slides (even though Riyaj threw in a few) and no rigid pre-set agenda & preparation.
I think the demo & topic was just too complex for a free form hacking session which is also this short…
Let’s see if we can come up with a simpler topic – throw in some preparation just in case, sort out the audio issues – and give another shot.
Stay tuned!
Folks, you can download the scripts and slides (in PDF format) here:
